Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data we collect on satisfymybite.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Effective date: .

Who we are

Satisfy My Bite is a recipe website sharing approachable meals, tips, and kitchen stories.

Not legal advice. This page describes our practices but isn’t legal counsel. Laws vary by region.

Information we collect

  • Information you provide: form submissions (e.g., contact form), newsletter signup details (name, email), and comments you post.
  • Automatic data: standard web logs and device data (IP address, browser/user-agent, approximate location derived from IP), pages viewed, and referring URLs, recorded to operate the site, prevent abuse, and understand performance.
  • Cookies & similar tech: we use cookies to remember preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising (see Cookie Policy and “Advertising & Ad Manager” below).

How we use your information

  • Publish content and operate the site, including security and debugging.
  • Respond to messages you send via our contact form or email.
  • Send optional newsletters you requested (you can unsubscribe anytime via the link in each email).
  • Moderate comments and protect against spam and abuse.
  • Analyze aggregate traffic to improve readability, performance, and content planning.
  • Show contextually relevant or interest-based ads (see the next section).

Advertising & Google Ad Manager

We partner with Google Ad Manager to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads and, where permitted, personalize them. Users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland will see a consent experience and can change choices anytime (see our Cookie Policy for details).

If you opt out of personalization, you’ll still see ads, but they may be less tailored.

Cookies & preferences

We use first-party cookies (e.g., to keep your site preferences) and third-party cookies (e.g., for ads and measurement). You can manage choices via your browser settings and our Cookie Policy, which explains categories and controls.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the form and, for spam prevention, the IP address and browser user-agent. If a globally recognized avatar service is enabled, an anonymized string (hash) of your email may be sent to that service to check for an avatar. Your comment and its metadata may be retained to help recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.

Contact forms & email

Messages sent through our forms are used to respond to your request and are stored as long as needed for support and record-keeping. You can email us at [email protected] to request deletion.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respectful analytics to understand which pages are visited and improve the site. Analytics are used in aggregate; we do not use them to identify individual users.

When we share your information

We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the site (hosting, security, email delivery, analytics) under confidentiality commitments.
  • Advertising partners (Google Ad Manager) to serve and measure ads.
  • Legal and safety if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

We do not sell personal information. In some regions, “share” can include cross-context behavioral advertising; see Cookie Policy for opt-out controls where applicable.

Data retention

  • Comments and their metadata may be kept indefinitely to recognize and approve future comments automatically.
  • Contact messages are kept as long as necessary for support and record-keeping.
  • Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer send newsletters.
  • Logs and analytics are kept for a limited time needed for security and performance.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing (including advertising). You also have the right to withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

To exercise a right, contact [email protected]. For EU/UK users, you may also contact your data protection authority.

International transfers

We may process information on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect cross-border data transfers.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law (13 in the U.S., up to 16 in parts of the EU). If you believe a child provided personal data, please contact us to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. The “Effective date” will show the latest version. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
