Ingredients

Scarecrow Crunch Snack Mix
  • 4 cup caramel popcorn
  • 2 cup pretzels or pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup mixed nuts or peanuts
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup autumn M&Ms or orange and yellow candy-coated chocolate
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or fall-colored chips
  • 1 cup corn Chex cereal
  • 0.25 cup white chocolate, melted for drizzle
  • 0.5 tsp Orange food coloring (optional for white chocolate)

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Mix the crunchy base
  1. In a large bowl, combine caramel popcorn, pretzels, mixed nuts, corn Chex cereal, and chocolate chips, tossing until evenly mixed.
  2. Melt the white chocolate until smooth (heat in short intervals if needed), and tint orange with orange food coloring if desired.
Drizzle and set
  1. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the mix in a thin, even layer for a coated look.
  2. Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined sheet and let it set for 10 minutes, letting the drizzle firm up as it cools.
Finish with candy
  1. Break apart any large clumps, then gently fold in the candy corn and autumn M&Ms so they stay crisp.
  2. Let the snack mix cool completely before storing, then transfer to an airtight container.

Notes

Pro tip: drizzle in a slow, thin stream so the coating stays crisp instead of sticky. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week at room temperature; no freezing needed. For a different diet, swap the chocolate chips and M&Ms for a dairy-free chocolate alternative to keep the same sweet crunch.
