Ingredients

ham and glaze
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in spiral-sliced ham (7-8 pounds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple rings juice reserved
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 maraschino cherries for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 slow cooker

Method

Load and prep
  1. Place the ham flat-side down in a large slow cooker, trimming if needed so the lid closes fully.
  2. Whisk together 1/2 cup reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
Glaze and top
  1. Pour half of the glaze over the ham, working it between the slices so it coats the cut surfaces.
  2. Arrange pineapple rings over the ham and secure each ring with a toothpick, adding a cherry in each center.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours until the ham is heated through and reaches 140°F.
Finish and serve
  1. Spoon the juices from the slow cooker over the ham, then drizzle with the remaining glaze before serving.

Notes

For the juiciest results, avoid lifting the lid during the 4-5 hours on LOW. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3-4 days; reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop with a spoonful of the juices. Freezing is possible for up to 2 months, though glaze may slightly thicken after thawing. If you need a lighter option, use reduced-sugar brown sugar (and honey if desired) to keep the same glaze flavor with fewer sugars.
