Ingredients

Apples and mix-ins
  • 5 crisp apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, cored and diced
  • 4 Snickers bars Full size, cut into bite-sized pieces and frozen briefly
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
Creamy dressing
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For serving
  • 1 caramel sauce For drizzling just before serving

Method

Freeze the Snickers
  1. Freeze the Snickers pieces for 20 minutes so they stay firm when mixed, then set aside.
  2. Dice and prep the apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) and measure the peanuts while the Snickers is freezing.
Make the creamy dressing
  1. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, creating a silky base (visual cue: no sugar lumps).
  2. Fold in the whipped topping and vanilla extract until combined, keeping the mixture thick and creamy.
Assemble and chill
  1. Fold the diced apples into the dressing until evenly coated.
  2. Gently fold in the Snickers pieces and peanuts so the candy stays in chunks (visual cue: visible Snickers and peanuts throughout).
  3. Refrigerate the salad for 30 minutes to let it thicken and set, then stir once before plating.
Serve
  1. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top just before serving for a glossy caramel finish.

Notes

Pro tip: freeze the Snickers briefly (about 20 minutes) so it doesn’t melt into the dressing. Refrigerate covered for up to 2 days; don’t freeze. For a lighter option, swap cream cheese for reduced-fat cream cheese and use reduced-sugar powdered sugar to keep the same creamy texture.
